What Is It?
It is the highest award possible from the FDC, and it is presented to the studio that has accumulated the most points throughout the regional season.  This cup will have your studio name inscribed on it and you will keep it in your studio for a year until next years points champion is crowned.

How Do We Earn Points?
The points are given out at every FDC regional.  Solos, Duet/Trios, Small Groups, Large Groups and Lines in every top five (5) high score will receive points.

Small group example:

  1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place 4th Place 5th Place
8 and under small groups 5 points 4 points 3 points 2 points 1 points
9-11 small groups 5 points 4 points 3 points 2 points 1 points
12-14 small groups 5 points 4 points 3 points 2 points 1 points
15-19 small groups 5 points 4 points 3 points 2 points 1 points
           

 

How Do I Track My Points?
The FDC tracks the points for you.  When you check the FDC website (thedancersfederation.com) the Top 50 studios with points will be listed.

Will The FDC Still Be Giving The Studio Excellence Award?
Yes, The Studio Excellence Awards will still be given out at every FDC competition national championship.  The points system is ran throughout the regional season only and is an entirely different award.

Can I Earn Points At A Competition That Is Not A Member Of The FDC?
No, you may only earn points from a FDC competition.

Can I Earn Points At An FDC Nationals?
Yes, the Studio Excellence Award Winner will receive a maximum total of 30 BONUS POINTS added to your total regional score.

Where Will The National Points Champion (The Pinnacle Cup) be awarded?
In August of 2008 the Pinnacle Cup will be presented in Las Vegas at the FDC awards ceremony.

Who Will Be In Attendance At The FDC Awards Ceremony?
In 2008 The FDC will invite and pay for (airfare and hotel) the top 25 studio owner/teacher and one (1) guest to the awards ceremony.  At the awards ceremony all points will be shown and final rankings presented to award the pinnacle cup.
